“Make me feel like am the only girl in the world”, That’s exactly how I felt when my husband and I were having our evening photo shoot at Westhouse Hotel. It was about 12am in the morning; eight hours old in marriage, and we were so exhausted but the photography crew were not done with us.
I wore my gold bandage dress, which I spotted a week to the wedding at a boutique store in Westlands. My friend and I had gone shoe shopping but we ended up leaving the store with this beautiful piece that hugged my body perfectly. I loved the mesh cutouts on the back of the dress that was quite flattering.
Shaq wore a custom made half coat suit that was actually a back up wedding suit. The fabric that we had in mind for his wedding suit was not available, so we decide to make the suit with the same Khaki/cotton fabric that we used to make the groomsmen suits but the detail on the half coat was made slightly different from the groom’s men.
As the crew were setting up, I borrowed my friend’s jacket to keep me warm since it was so cold. Trying to freeze and shine that night was close to impossible, though the music kept my blood warm. I kept dancing to the dj’s mix, and I could not help but feel like I was in Rihanna’s music video dancing beside her.
I loved the wallpaper on the staircase which beautifully showcased the buildings in town. It made the perfect backdrop for our photos.
This photo shoot was so intimate for us and we hardly noticed the photography crew. We kept gazing and smiling at each other and the poses came very naturally. The crew kept on asking us to looking at the camera while they were snapping but three quarters of the time, there words fell on deaf ears since we were so mesmerized with each other. I mean we just got married and we were and still are head over heels in love with each other.
The arrangement of the ferry lights and the lanterns came alive in the night. It all looked like a Cinderella movie set up where the prince and princess are taping a love scene…Awwwww… It’s a beautiful thing to be in love.
I cannot help but to want to re-live this moment again.
