Finding new purpose in my life has brought so much revelation; peace and happiness in my life. For a long time, I have been questioning myself whether or not I am living the life that God has chosen for me. I began to pray about it so that I can learn to listen to the voice of God that is in me. More like listening to my gut feeling. I have found myself changing a few things that weren’t making me happy. I also decided to switch up my career and do that which has always been my passion.
Being an editor was not my first choice of career path, but I thank my former bosses for mentoring and making me into the film/documentary editor that I am today. Through editing I have learnt how to tell stories in a personal way. Sitting in an edit suite has made connect with people in a different way even though we have not crossed paths before. Listening to their voices and the emotions they evoke has allowed me to tell their stories in a powerful way – in the sense that their audience can easily connect with them. At times, I get so engrossed in someones story that I feel like they are literally narrating and off loading their burdens to me; I always take it upon myself to give them a happy ending despite their circumstances.
As I venture deep into PR and blogging, I will use of my editing skills to tell stories in a unique way. Now more than ever, I will let my voice be heard. I will slowly but surely be the out-going and free-spirited introvert (I doubt if there is a character like that, ‘out-going and free-spirited introvert’) but hey! I will definitely be the first person to have such a character.
God’s favor is upon me and there is nothing stopping me from living my life like it’s golden.
Pulled Chicken and avocado salsa stuffed pita bread… sounds complicated but a very simple and tasty meal.
The chicken was pan-fried with spices and later put in the oven to roast. When done, it was so tender that the meat pulled off so easy.
We made tacos (which ended up looking like chapos) you can bake your own at home for more authenticity. I added a honey and mustard dressing and oh, some curried lentils too.
A perfect meal to wind down with…
